When we first received the diagnosis we were told of the many limitations Theresa would face in her future. Not willing to accept all of the “probably won’t and likely to’s,” we were determined for her to live her best life and have a choice of who she wants to be in this world. The mission of The GEAR Foundation aligns with ours, and we’ve been a part of the family for 12 years. In Theresa’s own words: “I Love my family at Our Thrift Store and I’m thankful for having this job. I can take care of myself and my dog. I am happy to have a wonderful place to work and serve this community. I look forward to going to work everyday.” The definition of a testimonial is to prove the value of what you have to offer. Her independence, her self-respect and the dignity of having a daily purpose is immeasurable.
